We are beginning a push to recruit volunteers for the Fall Harvest Season! We are not sure at this point if this year's crop will be as plentiful as last year's, but there is only one way to find out: come on out to the farm and give us a hand! We will need help every Saturday in September, and may also provide volunteer opportunities a few Sunday afternoons as well. All volunteer times would be starting at 1:00 pm and would go through the afternoon. Please check out our calendar on this site and email

when you are ready to volunteer!
Also, we have two corporate team days currently planned. Target Corporation is sending volunteers on Friday, September 10th. C.H. Robinson / T-Chek Systems is sending volunteers, likely Friday, September 17th. If you work for a company that supports volunteering in the community please contact us about setting up a date/time to bring out volunteers.
See you in a few short weeks at the farm!!

The massive potato-bug infestation continues to be the big story for us this summer. Treating with pesticides provides temporary relief, and the plants amazingly bounce back with new leaves and new flowers. However, with the wet/rainy summer, each time it rains the residual pesticides are washed off and the beatles are immediately back at destroying the crop. Please continue to pray that we will be blessed with a Harvest we can share with local foodshelves this fall, in spite of this difficult problem.

Despite the more accomodating rainfall we've been enjoying this year, our potatoes are running into a bigger problem than last year: Potato Bugs! The beetles are eating and destroying much of the crop and we've been forced to resort to pesticides to keep the problem under control. Many plants have already had all leaves eaten off, leaving nothing but a stem behind. We are not sure how much this will impact yields this year, but we appreciate prayers to that we might still be miraculously blessed with a plentiful harvest and that we might get this problem in check.
